Return & Refund Policy
At Canada VHS, we sell original vintage media. Most of our VHS tapes are decades old and may show normal signs of age, previous ownership, shelf wear, or cosmetic wear. We make every reasonable effort to accurately photograph and describe the items we sell.
Returns
We accept return requests within 14 days of delivery for items that:
- Arrive damaged beyond the condition shown or described in the listing;
- Are materially different from the item ordered; or
- Contain the wrong tape or otherwise cannot reasonably be used as sold.
Please contact us within 14 days of delivery and include your order number, a description of the issue, and photos where applicable.
Because our inventory consists primarily of used and collectible media, we generally do not accept returns for change of mind, buyer's remorse, or minor cosmetic wear consistent with the item's photographs and description.
VHS Playback & Vintage Media
VHS is an aging magnetic format. Unless a listing specifically states otherwise, tapes should be considered used vintage media rather than newly manufactured products.
We inspect our inventory and make reasonable efforts to identify obvious problems, but we cannot guarantee flawless audio or video throughout every second of every used tape. Minor tracking issues, picture noise, audio variation, aging labels, worn cases, rental stickers, writing, and other age-related characteristics may occur.
However, if a tape is substantially unplayable or defective beyond what would reasonably be expected from used VHS media, contact us. We'll work with you to make it right.
Condition
Please review all listing photographs before purchasing. The item pictured is the item you will receive unless the listing clearly states otherwise.
Normal wear visible in the listing photographs is considered part of the disclosed condition and is not grounds for a return.
Return Shipping
If we made an error, sent the wrong item, or an item arrives materially damaged or defective, Canada VHS will cover reasonable return shipping costs when a return is required.
For any return we approve for another reason, the customer is responsible for return shipping.
Items must be returned in substantially the same condition in which they were received. Please package VHS tapes securely to prevent damage during return transit.
Refunds
Once an approved return is received and inspected, we'll issue the applicable refund to the original payment method.
Original shipping charges are generally non-refundable unless the return resulted from an error by Canada VHS or the entire shipment arrived materially damaged or defective.
Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take additional time for the refund to appear after it has been processed.
Shipping Damage
If your order is damaged during shipping, keep the packaging and the damaged items and contact us as soon as possible. Photos of the shipping box, packaging material, shipping label, and damaged items may be required so we can pursue a claim with the carrier.
Please do not discard the packaging until we've responded to your request.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. We can usually cancel and refund an order before it has been packed or shipped.
Once an order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled.
Final-Sale Items
Items specifically identified as Final Sale, As-Is, Untested, or For Parts/Display cannot be returned for issues that were clearly disclosed in the listing.
This does not affect situations where you receive an item materially different from what was advertised.
